A Lockport man suffered head injuries when he was hit by a car at 11:49 p.m. Friday while walking across Lockport-Olcott Road, sheriff's Deputy Brian J. Harrer said.
Phillip Reale, 39, of Slayton Settlement Road, was listed in fair condition late Saturday in Erie County Medical Center, where he was taken by Mercy Flight, a hospital official said.
The incident occurred after Reale was involved in an accident in which he lost control of his car, which landed in a ditch in front of 3845 Lockport-Olcott Road.
When Reale, dressed in a black leather jacket and dark jeans, left his car and began to cross the road, he stepped into the path of a car operated by Michael D. Logan of Autumnview Station, Harrer said.
No charges were lodged in the accident.
