Leonard J. Norek, 62, a former tailor, died Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2000) in the Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill., following a long illness.
Born in Buffalo, Norek worked as a tailor with the M. Wile Co. in Buffalo for 17 years. He also worked upholstering the interior of boats and was the owner of a bar on Niagara Street in Buffalo for several years.
He moved to Orlando, Fla., in 1985 and lived there until June 1999, when he moved to Illinois.
An outdoorsman, Norek enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Buffalo Bills fan.
He is survived by two sons, Leonard of Manteno, Ill., and Kevin; two daughters, Donna and Nikki; a sister, Christine Jennings of Depew; two brothers, Raymond of Lancaster and Dennis of Cheektowaga; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
