The concept for 70 town-house units off Cloverbank Road has been approved by the Hamburg Planning Board.
The board gave concept approval last week to the proposal by Edmund F. Burke for Sawgrass III. The site plan for another Burke development, Brierwood Manor Apartments, also off Cloverbank, was given provisional approval by the board.
Another large subdivision proposal off Schoellkopf and Eckhardt roads was tabled following a lengthy public hearing. Residents living near the proposed 64-home Becker subdivision said they were concerned about preserving the wooded area and following the town's master plan for limited development in that area of Lake View.
The board also gave provisional approval for a 23,000-square-foot retail building at McKinley Commons near Seven Corners, planned by Benderson Development. Benderson's concept for a 20,000 square-foot addition on theKmart side of Town Hall Plaza also met with favorable reviews.
Other projects approved by the board include the Washtub Laundromat in the former Hector's Hardware on South Park Avenue and plans for a Mr. Pizza in the former 7-Eleven store at Lake Street and McKinley Parkway.
The Planning Board also gave a favorable recommendation for a TGIFriday's restaurant at McKinley Mall. It would be built at the current Chi-Chi's site. Final approval rests with the Town Board for changes at the mall.
