A State Supreme Court jury Friday ordered insurance carriers for an Amherst man to pay hospital technician Beverly Mascia $345,734 for severe neck injuries suffered when her car was rear-ended on Colvin Avenue in Kenmore on Jan. 22, 1997.

Following a trial before Justice Rose H. Sconiers, the jury ordered the payment by carriers for Charles Blanchard Jr., 39, the driver of a car that crashed into the rear of the Mascia car, which was stopped on Colvin at Meadow Lane Drive for pedestrians crossing the intersection.

Howard B. Cohen., attorney for Mascia, 55, of Kenmore, said his client underwent surgery but has returned to work.
