Authorities arrested a 55-year-old marina owner Thursday for the alleged 1979 murder of his wife.
Police found Alan Jeffrey Rhodes living under the name George Wilson in the town of Glenville where he has operated a business for 20 years.
He faces a first-degree murder charge in Lee County on Florida's southwest coast for the stabbing death of his then-19-year-old wife Shirley. He allegedly dumped her body in the Gulf of Mexico.
Sergeant Charles Ferranti of the Lee County Sheriff's Department's Fugitive Squad says he tracked Rhodes to upstate New York by tracing a phone call after the recent death of Rhodes' father.
Police in Glenville say Rhodes owned and operated Wilson's Marina on the Mohawk River for the past 20 years.
