MARATHON TALKS PRODUCE HOPE

A marathon 22 1/2 -hour negotiating session between the Dunkirk School Board and Dunkirk Teachers Association did not reach an agreement, but both sides say one may be reached shortly.

The session, which began at 8 a.m. Thursday and concluded at 6:30 a.m. Friday, involved a state conciliator.

Both Board President Adelino Gonzalez Jr. and Union President Joseph Sweeny said an agreement may be "close." Another session is scheduled for Thursday. The contract expired on June 30, 1996.
