Hazel L. Oakes, 80, of Walmore Road, died Thursday (Jan. 20, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.

The former Hazel Stancliff was born in Edinboro, Pa., where she went to school.

She and her husband, John D., moved to Niagara Falls in 1950. He died in 1983. They had been married 43 years.

Mrs. Oakes, a homemaker, was a member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and the Buff Social Club in Niagara Falls.

She also had lived in Cayuga Village Mobile Home Park in the Town of Niagara.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Ligammari of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Claudia Maiello of Sanborn; a sister, Marie, of Girard, Pa.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
