Edward Rochna, 89, of Hamburg, a retired Bethlehem Steel Corp. supervisor, died Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2000) in Mercy Hospital.
Born in Buffalo, he grew up in Angola. He had a 36-year career at Bethlehem Steel and was a supervisor of production when he retired in 1960. HFollowing his retirement, he worked as a consultant in the iron ore industry for about 20 years.
He was a member of the Society of Mining Engineers, the Bethlehem Management Club and the Knights of Columbus.
He and the former Mary Anna Rachlinski were married in 1934.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Paul and David, both of Houston; three sisters, Jean Garbacz of Hamburg, Dorothy Kilcullen of New Jersey and Veronica Laskowski of Dunedin, Fla.; a brother, Al of Denver; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. today in St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis Drive, Athol Springs. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Angola.
