A Salamanca city appointee and businessman is due in Busti Town Court on Wednesday to answer charges he exposed himself in a department store fitting room in Chautauqua Mall.
Edwin F. Fenton III, 50, of Parkway Drive, faces a misdemeanor charge of public lewdness.
Busti police said an employee at the Bon-Ton saw Fenton expose himself in a fitting room at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Fenton was arraigned before Busti Town Justice Merle Elkin and posted $155 bail, pending his next appearance.
Fenton previously was arrested on public lewdness charges in the Town of Allegany. He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and paid a $100 fine. Under such a plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but concedes that the evidence is strong enough for a conviction.
Fenton, a member of the City of Salamanca Fire Commission and Zoning Board, is the third generation of his family to operate the Fenton Insurance Agency in Salamanca. He is a past president of the Salamanca Kiwanis Club and current treasurer of the Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce.
