Harold L. Darling, 57, of Parkersburg, W. Va., a native of Batavia, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) in a car crash in Macksburg, Ohio.
Darling was a self-employed certified public accountant for Primerica Insurance & Securities.
He was active in several business and civic organizations in Parkersburg, serving as president of the Parkersburg Community Organization on Disabilities. He was a member of the Moose and Elks lodges and the Kiwanis Club.
Darling served in the Navy as an air traffic controller in Adack, Ala.
He was a 1960 graduate of Attica High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Memphis State University.
Surviving are his mother, Alma Schenck Darling of Attica, and a sister, Sandra Hacker of Reno, Nev.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica. A Masonic service will be held there at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica.
