Ethel A. Too-hey, who worked for the former W.A. Helms grocery store, died Wednesday (Dec. 29, 1999) under the care of Hospice Niagara after a lengthy illness. She was 78.
Mrs. Toohey retired in 1971 after working for many years as a clerk at the store.
Born in Brooklyn, the former Ethel Smith moved here in 1945.
She was a past member of the ladies auxiliary of Lewiston No. 1 Fire Company. In retirement she enjoyed needlework, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Patrick A., died in 1975.
Survivors include a son, James R. of Buffalo; a daughter, Patricia George; a sister, Dorothy Smith; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at the convenience of the family, according to the Hardison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lewiston Cemetery.
