BORDER PATROL CHIEF IN FALLS RETIRES

U.S. Border Patrol Agent in Charge Frank S. Kopczynski, 57, retires today after 34 years of service, 24 of them here.

Border Patrol officers are required to retire at age 57.

Kopczynski was placed in charge of the U.S. Border Patrol Station here in 1975. He graduated from the Border Patrol Academy at Los Fresnos, Texas, and started his Border Patrol career in 1965 in Laredo, Texas.

During his career, Kopczynski took part in investigating many cases here involving illegal aliens. He also was assigned to special details such as the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.
