The bridegroom, son of Roy Pender of Northwood, N.H., and Erin Pender of Dover, N.H., is a graduate of Winnacunett (N.H.) High School, Paul Smith's College and University of New Hampshire. He is an atmospheric researcher in Boulder, Colo.
At home in Queensbury after a trip to Hawaii are Joseph S. McCarthy Jr. and his bride, Laurel B. Rhoads, who were married Sept. 24 in Canfield Casino, Saratoga Springs, where a reception was given.
The bride, daughter of David R. and Marilyn Rhoads of Williamsville, is a graduate of Sweet Home High School and University of South Carolina. She has a master's degree from Plattsburgh State College and is director of national accounts for the Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing.
The bridegroom, son of Joseph S. McCarhty Sr. of Saratoga Springs and the late Marie McCarthy, is a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and State University at Albany. He is vice president of accounting for Urban Retail Properties of Chicago, Ill.
