Mary T. Chiarella, 91, who worked in the former Model City Canning Factory here during the 1940s, died Tuesday (Dec. 28, 1999) at her home.
A native of Calabria, Italy, the former Mary Scozzafava moved to Niagara Falls in 1919 and attended local schools. She had lived in Lewiston since 1924.
Mrs. Chiarella worked in production at the canning factory during World War II.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Her husband, Joseph, died in 1964.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Proietti and Angeline Rantucci; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Church, 600 Center St., after prayers at 9:30 in Hardison Funeral Home, North Fourth and Ridge streets. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
