Charles J. Caccard of Cheektowaga, a bricklayer and World War II veteran, died Monday (Dec. 27, 1999) in Veterans Hospital. He was 74.
Born in Buffalo, Caccard attended city schools and graduated from Burgard Vocational High School.
An Army veteran, he served in Europe during World War II, earning the Purple Heart.
Caccard was a member of Leonard Post Jr. Post No. 6251, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A bricklayer by trade, he was a 50-year gold card member of Bricklayers Local 45. He also was an avid bowler whose teams won several local tournaments.
He is survived by two sons, Charles J. Jr. of Depew and William of Cheektowaga; three daughters, Karen Held of Victor and Gail Ioviero and Judith Kabala, both of Depew; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel, 4125 Union Road, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
