The Toy Town Museum in East Aurora and the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda have formed a partnership aimed at boosting awareness of local attractions and increasing tourism among area cultural attractions.

Over the years, both institutions have acquired rare collections of national importance and enjoyment for Western New York residents.

The partnership is the second of its kind for the Toy Town Museum. In 1997, the museum paired with the Zoological Society of Buffalo to further the zoo's efforts on behalf of nature.

"Our goal in working with the Herschell Carrousel Museum is to increase awareness of our local cultural organizations, while providing the necessary strength in numbers to effectively reach our goals of increased tourism in the region," said John Murray, Toy Town Museum president and CEO.

Elizabeth M. Brick, curator of the Carrousel Factory Museum, said her organization is interested in increasing the number of visitors to both museums and continuing to educate the public.
