Paula Irene Rowland, 58, a professional musician who performed locally and for the U.S. Air Force in Greenland, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.

Born Paula Michaud in Brunswick, Maine, she moved to this area with her family when she was a young girl. She attended Niagara Falls schools.

A bass guitarist and vocalist, she played and sang in local establishments and also performed in Lions Club jamborees. She was a member of the former Niagara Falls music group Just Us. In addition to performing for the Air Force in Thule, Greenland, she appeared on television in Melbourne, Fla.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy, and a son, Franklin, both of Niagara Falls; four brothers, Robert and Wallace Michaud, both of Genesee, Francis of Butte, Mont., and Gregory Lyons of Denver; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls.
