Cameron Diaz is dealing with life in the spotlight by taking tips from someone who should know -- Julia Roberts.

"I've learned a lot about responsibility by watching her," Diaz told Cosmopolitan for its January 2000 edition. "Everybody has their own way of dealing with fame, and I have to say that I learned how to deal with mine from Julia."

The two women worked together in the 1997 film "My Best Friend's Wedding."

Diaz's strategy, like Roberts', has involved taking a little time away from Hollywood's fast pace -- and not always engaging with fans who call out her name on the streets.

"I had a little moment where it was all just overwhelming," Diaz said.

The 27-year-old is currently appearing in "Any Given Sunday" and is all but unrecognizable in "Being John Malkovich."
