Authorities arrested a Lufthansa passenger today after they said he threatened to set off explosives on a flight carrying 23 people from Prague to Duesseldorf.
Lufthansa informed police of a possible hijacking just before Flight 5293 landed here at 11:49 a.m., as scheduled.
The passenger demanded to be turned over to authorities in Duesseldorf. Identified only as a 41-year-old Arabic speaker, the passenger surrendered without incident about 15 minutes after landing, police said.
None of the 19 passengers and four crew on the flight was injured, and Lufthansa spokeswoman Sofia Katsidou described the atmosphere on the plane as undramatic.
"The man was not aggressive and told the crew repeatedly that they didn't need to be afraid," she said.
