Harriet Nowak, a former employee of Victor Catering, died Saturday (Dec. 25, 1999) in Williamsville View Manor after a brief illness. She was 75.
The former Harriet Rowan was a lifelong resident of Buffalo. She worked at Sattler's department store on Broadway until her marriage in 1946 and then was a waitress at Bristol Manor for 10 years before working for Victor Catering until it closed.
Mrs. Nowak also was an independent distributor for Stanley Home Products.
She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Cheektowaga and the Voice Club of Western New York. She was an avid bingo player.
Her husband, Henry G., died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, Steven H. of Cheektowaga; a daughter, Pamela Andelora of Sun Lake, Ariz.; a sister, Jeannie Logan of Florida; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 4125 Union Road, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
