Frederick C. Knight, 78, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) in his Wyoming home after a lengthy illness.
A Batavia native, he owned and operated Fred's Welding Service in Wyoming for many years. He also was employed at Lapp Insulator Co., Le Roy, where he worked for many years before retiring in 1983.
Knight was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.
He was a 53-year member of First Presbyterian Church of Wyoming and a former trustee of the church. He also was a member of the Wyoming Cemetery Association, the Gas & Steam Engine Association of Alexander and Wyoming Hook & Ladder Company.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Umbria Warsop; a son, David of Nashua, N.H.; a daughter, Kay M. Dorn of West Monroe; two brothers, Earl E. of Columbia, Md., and Charles W. of Silver Springs; two sisters, Kathleen Rupp of Wyoming and Marian Sprague of Brandon, Fla.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Robinson & and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
