Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street skied for the first time since breaking her left leg and rupturing ligaments in her right knee in Switzerland on March 13, 1998, during a World Cup downhill. Street skied much of the morning at recreational speeds at Park City (Utah) Mountain Resort. "I felt kind of behind all morning until I got to the top of the run," she said, wiping away tears. "Then I got excited. I knew I was going to run. It came out of nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks."

Dale Eagle of Lewisville, Texas, winner of four titles this year, was honored as the 1999 Professional Bowlers Association Senior Player of the Year. Mike Pullin, 50, of Rochelle, Ill., was voted 1999 PBA Senior Rookie of the Year.

Kevin Brown scored two power-play goals 1:27 apart to give the Hamilton Bulldogs a 2-0 lead, but the Rochester Americans rallied for a 2-2 American Hockey League tie. Denis Hamel scored his 17th on one of Rochester's 23 second-period shots and Mike Hurlbut tied it at 5:02 of the third. The Americans fired 41 shots overall at Hamilton goaltender Mike Minard.
