Alice Christina Balzer, 83, of Clarence died Friday (Dec. 24, 1999) after a brief illness.
A Buffalo native, the former Alice Sennett graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1937.
Mrs. Balzer was an active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She also was the president and secretary of the Women's Auxiliary of Edward J. Bastian Post 1479, Catholic War Veterans, of which she was a member for more than 40 years. She also was an officer of the Women's Auxiliary of Erie Chapter.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and knitting. She also volunteered at Our Lady of Victory Infant Home and donated cribs.
She was the widow of Leonard Balzer, her husband of 35 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Maryann Balon of Lackawanna and Carolyn Moronski of Clarence; a sister, Dorothy Groff; a brother, Herbert Sennett; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Nativity Church, 85000 Main St., Harris Hill. Prayers will be said at 9:15 in Danzer & Dangler Funeral Home, 5363 Genesee St., Bowmansville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bowmansville.
