Violet P. Brayley, 62, a former resident of the Tuscarora Indian Reservation, died Wednesday (Dec. 22, 1999) in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio, after a long illness.
Born Violet John on the reservation, she lived there until moving to Bidwell, Ohio, in 1997. She was a member of the Bear Clan.
Survivors include two sons, Brian of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mark of Clarence; three daughters, Debra Clary of Bidwell, Susan Magcale of Fremont, Calif., and Candace of Monrovia, Calif.; three brothers, Harold John of Pennsylvania, Sidney Anderson of Niagara Falls and Duane Anderson; a sister, Laura Crogan of Niagara Falls; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
