Rhoda Yamonaco, 77, a former lingerie buyer, died Friday (Dec. 24, 1999) in St. Mary's Manor after a lengthy illness.
Born Rhoda Bailey in Buffalo, she moved here as a child. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School.
Mrs. Yamonaco worked at three stores in Niagara Falls: Neisner's, Lincoln's and Beir's. She was a lingerie buyer for 12 years at the latter, retiring in the 1970s.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church.
She enjoyed bingo and sports.
Her husband, Frank J., died April 10, 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Shul of Grand Island; her dear companion, Herbert Hohl; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth St., after prayers at 9 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
