WOMAN ACCUSED OF FAILED HOLDUPS

Tasheen Stewart didn't have much luck trying to rob a bank, Buffalo police reported Friday.

In fact, she tried robbing two banks without getting as much as a dime, they said.

The first attempt allegedly occurred at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, when Stewart, 25, of Stanislaus Street was accused of passing a note to a teller in an unsuccessful robbery attempt at the Fleet Bank on West Utica Street. She left without receiving any money, police said.

Five minutes later, police said, the same woman passed a robbery note to a teller at the nearby HSBC Bank on Elmwood Avenue, but she fled before the teller responded.

Details of her arrest were unavailable. Stewart was charged with attempted robbery.
