Two brothers from Fillmore have been arrested after one of them was accused of crawling into the front seat of an East Aurora patrol car and taking the police car on a joy ride that ended with his capture in a Town of Colden barn.
East Aurora police, Erie County sheriff's deputies and New York state police collared Shiloh Huggler, 20, hiding in a barn on Darien Road in the Town of Colden early Friday morning.
Police said Huggler and his brother Jessie, 19, were involved in a property-damage accident on Route 400 in the Town of Aurora. Shiloh Huggler, although not under arrest, was placed in the rear of the patrol car, while Officer Darren Longboat investigated the accident.
Shiloh Huggler then crawled through a small window in the safety partition between the front and back seats and drove the police car to the Darien Road location, where he abandoned the car, police said.
East Aurora police charged Shiloh Huggler with grand larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle and obstruction of justice.
Jessie Huggler, who remained at the original accident scene, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after being accused of struggling with police.
