Robert M. Zaenglein of Elma, a retired insurance agent, died Thursday (Dec. 23, 1999) in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 72.
Zaenglein was born in Buffalo in 1927. He graduated from Burgard Vocational High School and served in the Navy in 1945 and 1946.
He owned BZ Tackle in Cheektowaga and worked as an agent for Allstate Insurance before retiring in the early 1980s.
He enjoyed making jewelry and engraving guns.
He was married for 46 years Shirley Monin Zaenglein, who died in 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary of Williamsville and Linda Alicea of West Seneca; a son, Michael R. of Lancaster; a sister, Marie Augugliaro of Amherst; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in French Road Baptist Church, 751 French Road, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca.
