Emilio "Elmer" Bello, a native of Naples, Italy, who came to Buffalo 80 years ago, died Friday (Dec. 24, 1999) in McCauley Residence, Town of Tonawanda. He was 96.
Bello came to Buffalo in 1919. He worked at E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. for 13 years, then as a maintenance worker for National Fuel for 10 years. He retired in 1965.
Bello enjoyed music and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, the former Jennie Malucci; a daughter, Christine Macaluso; two sons, Dominic and Al, both of Williamsville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Prayers at 9:15 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, will precede a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 348 Dewitt St. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn.
