Tournament MVP Jason Hargrove poured in 33 points as he led Park School over Burgard, 83-74, in the championship game of the Pioneers' own tournament Thursday night. It was the second year in a row that coach Mike Dugan's Park team defeated Burgard in the title game.
Hargrove, a 6-foot senior guard, also had 12 rebounds, four steals and four assists in a strong all-around performance for the undefeated Pioneers, who won their eighth in a row.
Dominic Currie-Bishop had 17 points while Jason Zawodzinski added 11 for Park. Burgard got a 27-point output from Demetras Washington, Juan Rodriguez and Aaron Staples had 12 each for the Bulldogs while Anthony Mack contributed 11.
Aaron Ford's 20 points led Hutch-Tech past Pioneer, 57-46, in the consolation game. Ethan Grant had 11 points for the Engineers. Jon Daly scored 18 and John Ruppert 15 for the Panthers.
West Seneca Tournament: Seniors Aaron Turner and Brian Ferris led once-beaten St. Francis over host West Seneca West, 55-47, to advance to next Tuesday's championship game. Mike Flynn kept the losing Indians in the game with 22 points.
West Seneca East also reached the finals with a 62-50 triumph over Lake Shore. The Trojans jumped to a 19-point halftime lead and turned back the Eagles' second-half rally.
Chris Kulinski led WSE with 15 points, Brian Ward added 13 points while Dave Barabas had 10 points and nine rebounds. Jeff Russel (16) and Will Ramsey (13) were high scorers for Lake Shore.
ECIC Interdivisional: Six-foot, 5-inch center Tom Swart's 20 points led Clarence over visiting Lancaster, 66-44. Jim Farrell had 11 points for the Red Devils.
Joe Shields was high man with 10 points for Lancaster, which fell behind by 22 points at the half.
Non-league: Junior guard Jimmy Dominkewicz hit for 37 points and Mark Marong added 22 as Orchard Park enjoyed a hot-shooting night in an 88-71 rout at Fredonia. The Quakers' half-court defense forced several turnovers by the Hillbillies. Brent Vogel, a 6-6 senior center, had 23 points and 12 boards for Fredonia.
Jon Wilson had 25 points and Aaron Kiffer handed out nine assists as Olean topped Jamestown, 52-48. Chad Wiedenhofer led the Red Raiders with 15 points.
