Frances W. Pemberton, 80, a guidance counselor in the Williamsville School District for several years, died Thursday (Dec. 23, 1999) in Lockport Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The former Frances Wood was born in Rochester and earned her master's degree in education at the University of Rochester.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Angelus Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 559, and the state Retired Teachers Association.
In addition, she was a member of the Lockport Memorial Hospital Guild, where she served as secretary for five years, and the Lockport Organ Society. She also volunteered at Lockport Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
Her husband, Ralph W., died in 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Estelle Gese of Bemus Point, Anne D. Pemberton of Acton, Mass., and Gale Pemberton of Salem, S.C.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
