TEEN DRIVER IS INJURED IN BROADSIDE COLLISION

Tremell R. Jordan, 16, of Spruce Avenue, suffered a lacerated liver Wednesday when his car ran a stop sign and was hit broadside by another vehicle, Officer Michael Kachurek said.

Jordan as listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

The accident occurred at 9:57 a.m. when Jordan failed to obey a stop sign at LaSalle Avenue and 13th Street and was hit broadside by a car driven by John Tench, 52, of Pierce Avenue, Kachurek said.

Kachurek said Jordan and his passengers fled the scene, but Jordan later showed up at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with one of his passengers for treatment.

Jordan was charged with leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident, a stop sign violation and unlicensed operation. Tench was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, Kachurek said.
