Crossing over
Former Buffalo resident Brian McKnight is best known for his R&B music, but he may be making a mark in country music. Country singer Mark Willis has recorded a version of McKnight's current smash single, "Back At One."
All that glitters ...
Boy George escaped serious injury recently when a giant disco ball crashed to the floor of a club in England, smacking the ex-lead singer of Culture Club. "It would have been both ironic and glamorous to be finished off by a four-foot glitter ball," Boy George said. He was treated for shock and bruises, caused by the 62-pound mirror ball.
Under investigation
The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating MTV for its dominance of the music video broadcasting industry.
New priorities
Linda Ronstadt's days of performing may be nearing an end. "I have very little interest in singing publicly anymore," Ronstadt told the Wall of Sound website. "I have little kids now and I have to confess I don't spend very much time singing." Ronstadt, 53, will perform a New Year's Eve gig in L.A. with the Eagles and Jackson Browne. After that, who knows?
