NORTH TONAWANDA TO BUY CARS FOR TOP OFFICIALS

The North Tonawanda Common Council this week approved the purchase of three autos for use by department heads, at a total state bid price of $46,633.

On the recommendation of Public Works Superintendent Gary J. Franklin, the Council retroactively approved the appointment of five current city employees to new positions in the newly created Traffic Control Division of the DPW.

The Council also:

Approved payment of $70,064 to P&J Construction Co. Inc. for installing a brick walk on Webster Street from Sweeney to Island Street as part of the city's Project Pride program.

Awarded a $14,078 contract for central office supplies for the year's 2000 and 2001 to Service Office Supply Corp.
