MOTHER, SON, 11, INJURED IN CAR-PICKUP COLLISION

A mother and son ended up in the hospital Wednesday after a car-pickup truck collision at Lockport and Walmore roads, sheriff's Deputy Scott D. Milleville said.

Angela M. Bragagnola, 33, of Bellreng Drive, Town of Niagara, the driver of the car, was listed in fair condition late Wednesday with head injuries in the Erie County Medical Center, a hospital official said.

Shane R. Bragagnola, 11, her son, was discharged from the same hospital after he was treated for facial injuries, hospital official said.

The accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. when Bragagnola passed a stop sign at Walmore Road and made a left turn onto Lockport Road where she was hit by a pickup that was eastbound on Lockport Road. The truck was driven by Thomas E. Benedict, 49, of Royalton. He was not injured, Milleville said.
