Jean McClelland Barrett, 84, a homemaker, died Monday (Dec. 20, 1999) in her Buffalo home after a long illness.
Born Jean McClelland in New Haven, Conn., she was a graduate of Smith College. The mother of three, she had been a Buffalo resident since 1952.
She was a member of the vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church. She also was a member of the Ausable Club, the Saturn Club and the Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club.
She was an avid fisherman, gardener and tennis player.
She and Julian S. "Pete" Barrett were married in 1938. A sportsman and industrial executive, he died in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, James of Montclair, N.J., and Vincent B. of East Aurora; a brother, George K. McClelland of Keene Valley; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 15 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 371 Delaware Ave.
