George Forstreicher, 83, formerly of Seneca Street here, died Tuesday (Dec. 21, 1999) in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Munich, Germany, he served in the German army during World War II in Crete and Russia.
He had lived in Holland in southern Erie County since 1980. Prior to that, he had lived in Lewiston since coming to the United States in 1956.
Forstreicher enjoyed bird watching, horses and skiing.
He was a butcher for the former Twin Fair stores, the former Loblaws and for Federal Meat Markets in Niagara Falls from 1956 to 1972.
He was a member of the Buffalo Zither Club.
Survivors include a sister, Fanny Strennberger of the Netherlands; and dear friends Karl and Elizabeth Schiegg.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
