Edward L. Kennedy, 75, a former accident investigator, died Monday (Dec. 20, 1999) in Scripps Memorial Hospital, San Diego, after a brief illness.

A Niagara Falls native, he was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and saw action on IwoJima.

Kennedy was a graduate of Niagara University.

He worked as an accident investigator with the Zurich Insurance Co. for many years.

Kennedy was an active member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. He and his wife, the former Mary Craven, moved to La Jolla, Calif., in 1979 and became members of Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church. She died in 1987.

Kennedy was an active member of the Grand Island Lions Club, and served as president. As a Grand Island resident, he was active in the Democratic Party. Survivors include two brothers, James A. of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Bernard J. of Eggertsville.

A memorial Mass will be held at a time to be announced in St. Stephen's Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island.
