William J. Lees, 84, a retired supervisor at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Cheektowaga, died Monday (Dec. 20, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a short illness. The Amherst resident was 84.
A native of Akron, Ohio, he came to this area in 1947 from Pittsburgh, where he worked for Westinghouse. He retired in 1980 after 40 years with the company.
Lees was past president of the National Management Association of Westinghouse and also past president of its Clerks' Association. He had numerous hobbies, including golf, fishing, traveling, gardening, bowling, carpentry and electrical projects.
He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Jenkins; a daughter, Dolores L. Chilton of Elmira; a son, William J. II of West Valley; a sister, Huldah Hinkle of Rochester; three brothers, Joseph M. of Dallas, Howard W. of Irving, Calif., and Robert E. of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville. Interment will be in the SS. Peter & Paul Mausoleum.
