TIMON/ST. JUDE MOVES TO 6-0 AFTER DRUBBING OF LOCKPORT

Charlie Comerford had 12 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds Tuesday as Timon/St. Jude ran its record to 6-0 with a lopsided 80-45 non-league victory over Lockport. Corey Herring had 20 points and Fran Snyder added 17 for the Tigers, who led, 22-6, after the first quarter. Michael DiTullio led the Lions with 13.

In other non-league action, Christian Central's Aurinas Petrikas, a Lithuanian exchange student, recorded his first triple-double with 42 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks but Lafayette won the game, 59-54. Derrick Ware led the Violets with 27 points and nine assists.

Freshman Ed Kellerman scored five of his eight points in the final quarter, and senior Matt Arena, playing because a teammate fouled out, hit four free throws over the last 20 seconds to propel Canisius, 57-53, over McKinley. Canisius' Joe Zera led the way with 32 points. Terrance Allen topped McKinley with 13.

Mike Meagher had 18 points and James Farrell added 14 as Clarence beat North Tonawanda, 68-63. Mike Miranto led the Jacks with 25 points and Dan Sass (12 points) made it seven games in a row in double figures. .

Seneca dominated the offensive boards in a 70-68 win over Sweet Home. Ameer Drake had 19 points and Darmell Whitfield added 16 for the Indians. Bryan Boswell led the Panthers with 30 points.

Neil Clements had 16 points and Mike Groce added 11 as Grand Island survived Tonawanda, 60-56. An 11-5 run late in the game helped the Vikings prevail. Sean Kenney had 26 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.

Sean Reisch had 16 points and 10 rebounds as Kenmore West held Roy-Hart to 10 first-half points in a 62-30 victory. Todd Prynn tossed in 16 for the Rams.

Jason Meyers had 14 points and Jon Hayes added 13 points and 11 rebounds as Alden downed Wilson, 50-42. Troy Goergen handed out seven assists for the Bulldogs. Joel Feagan led the Lakemen with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Rusty Ormsby had 21 points and Anthony Sargent added 19 as St. Mary's School for the Deaf beat Bethel Christian, 57-53. Erik Sukiennik added 12 points for the Saints.

Steve Johnson had 17 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double as North Collins beat West Seneca Christian, 69-28. Frank Weidright added 11 points and Brett Walentynowicz handed out 10 assists. The Eagles started the game on a 16-2 run.

Portville (8-0) outscored Port Allegany (Pa.) by 10 points in the third quarter to win, 59-51. Brian Blask (13), Bill Torrey (12) and Jeff McMahon (11) were in double figures for the Panthers.

Harvey Austin Tournament: Jason Lee's free throws with 10 seconds left helped Buffalo Arts beat City Honors, 59-57, for the title.

Lee, named MVP, led the Cavaliers with 22 points and Dave Pellnat added 13. Marlen Long had 20 for City Honors.

Starpoint Tournament: Brad Conklin had 24 points and Jason Kroening added 12 as Starpoint beat South Park, 72-67. Calvin Mays (28) paced the Sparks.

Matt Fuerch had 24 points and David Morrison added 13 as Niagara-Wheatfield beat Eden, 62-39. Brian Bihl (10) led the Raiders.

CCIAC I: Justin Miller had 15 points and 15 rebounds and Tyler Durnell had 10 rebounds as Southwestern held Dunkirk to 10 points in the first half in a 66-42 win. Jared Porpiglia and Chris Quinones had 12 each for Dunkirk.

Ryan Coon had 25 points and Reed Passafaro netted 17 as Fredonia pulled away from Allegany-Limestone, 88-59. Nick Aiello led the Gators with 14 points.

CCIAC II: Charles Goulding had 22 points and 12 rebounds and Matt Aman added 19 points as Frewsburg (5-1) beat Panama, 63-48. Chris Anderson led Panama with 16 points.

Chris Mays (20 points) was among four players in double figures as Silver Creek dropped Chautauqua Lake, 70-47. Hungarian exchange student Mate Oltarczy added 15. Joe Farmer netted 12 for Chautauqua Lake.

Mike Burnett scored 26 of his 17 points in the second half and was 9 of 9 from the line to lead Westfield over Cassadaga Valley, 59-44. Greg Hopkins had 22 points for the Cougars.
