PROMOTED -- David C. Clippinger, son of Ronald and Amelia Clippinger of Cambria, recently was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in 1991 and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., in 1995. Clippinger is a graduate student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, studying math and engineering in preparation for assignment as an instructor at the Coast Guard Academy. . . .
