SALVATION ARMY SETS SCHEDULE

The Salvation Army will distribute toys to children here today and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m.

Five hundred food baskets will be distributed to families and shut-ins. Wegmans has donated the use of a refrigerated truck, and employees of the West Ellicott store will assist in the distribution. The Salvation Army has also provided grocery vouchers to more than 100 senior citizens.

The Angel Tree program will provide gifts to 665 children, and 300 families will be able to pick up clothing and toys at the Salvation Army's "toy shop."

In Dunkirk, the Salvation Army is providing food baskets and toys to 116 families, according to a spokesman.

The Community Christmas/Sharing with Children organization will distribute toys to 900 children Wednesday and Thursday at its headquarters, 100 Ruggles St. Families whose last names begin with A through M are to come on Wednesday and those whose last names begin with N through Z on Thursday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, Inc. has been distributing toys collected and refurbished by the Fredonia-based Troopers Toys for Tots. The Rural Ministry operates the Friendly Kitchen to provide meals for those in need. Members of Temple Beth El in Dunkirk will prepare and serve Christmas dinner.
