After reading the Dec. 10 News editorial about the lawsuit against gun manufacturers, I have to admit I am a little confused. Let me use an analogy to see if I have this straight.
I decide to knock back six rum-and-cokes and hop into my trusty pickup truck. I head up Harlem Road at about 50 mph and run the red light at Cleveland Drive, broad-siding a van full of people. I would guess I have violated at least three laws, but that shouldn't really matter.
Just give me a slap on the wrist. We can sue Ford, because they built the truck and sold it to me. And while we're at it, let's sue Bacardi, because they produced and sold the rum. It's their fault that I misused two legally marketed products. There, do I have it right now?
