KENSINGTON HANDS IROQUOIS FIRST LOSS

Wayne Vance had 19 points, including a key free throw with six seconds left, as Kensington handed Iroquois its first loss, 58-55, in a non-league boys game on Monday. The Knights outscored the Chiefs, 41-27, in the second half to even their record at 2-2. Kensington's Mike West handed out 10 assists. Iroquois was led by Jake Steck with 25 points.

In other non-league games, St. Joe's used a 29-12 run in the third quarter to run away from Orchard Park, 98-58. Nick Massaro was 8 of 8 from the floor to finish with 17 points with 10 rebounds. Andrew Spitler and Matt May also netted 17 points each for the Marauders (5-1). Sean O'Brien paced the Quakers with 19. . . . West Seneca West outscored Canisius, 13-4, in overtime in a 67-58 victory. Mike Flynn had 20 points while Andy Schwender grabbed 17 rebounds for the Indians.. . . Torrey Hobbs' basket with eight seconds left helped City Honors edge Depew, 55-53. Mark Richardson had 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the Centaurs. . . . Darrell Thompson scored all 11 of his points in fourth quarter to spark Emerson to a 50-43 win over Christian Central. . . . Bruce Rowcliffe and James Ryan had 14 points each as Albion moved to 5-0 with a 65-57 win over Elba.

ECIC Interdivision: Myron Lee had 19 points and Antwon Burton added 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Cleveland Hill past Cheektowaga, 58-45. Rob Gladwell led the Warriors with 13 points.

CCIAC I: Jon Wilson had 25 points and Ryan Donnelly added 15, including nine in the fourth quarter, as Olean handed Gowanda its first loss, 67-52. Adan Hernandez led Gowanda with 16 points.

Girls basketball

ECIC Interdivision: Nicole Olszewski netted 12 points and Nicole Lucie added 10 as Lancaster earned its first win, 47-15 over winless Williamsville South. The 'Skins had no answer for 5-foot-11 Rachael Bruni, who had 12 blocked shots.

ECIC III: Kristi Wierzbicki and Alison Niedzwicki (11 each) as Maryvale beat Cheektowaga, 45-17.

ECIC IV: Katie Paradise had her second triple-double in a row with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals as East Aurora drubbed winless Eden, 73-32.

CCIAC I: Nicole Vitello had 15 points as Olean bet Gowanda, 65-34.

CCIAC II: Beth Johnessee had 14 points and undefeated Frewsburg (6-0) beat Randolph, 55-43. . . . Tiffany Ciolek had 21 points as Salamanca beat Chautauqua Lake, 57-42.

CCIAC III: Corine Bayle had 23 rebounds to lead Clymer, 48-21, over Forestville. . . . Freshman Ashlew Kulju erupted for 19 points to lead Maple Grove over Brocton, 53-39.

Cattaraugus III: Jessica Golley had 19 points to lead Little Valley over winless West Valley, 34-31.

Non-league: Jade Fleming had 17 points and Maria Atti 16 as Kenmore East beat Starpoint, 68-25. . . . Kara Sweeney had 14 points to lead Hamburg over Medina, 47-25.
