DELI OWNER ALLEGEDLY PURCHASED STOLEN GOODS

A delicatessen owner who allegedly bought merchandise stolen from other delis in the area was arrested Monday night along with two shoplifting suspects.

Ahmed Nagi, 27, who operates a deli at Lisbon and Cordova avenues, was charged with possession of stolen property after he bought $104 worth of Slim Jims for $20 from two men who had just stolen them from a store down the street, police said.

Anthony Williams, 35, and Jeffrey Thomas, 33, both of Millicent Avenue were charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property.

Officers Cheryl Waller, Terry Dolan, James O'Donnell and James Curtin of the Northeast District made the arrests.
