Scolastica Astolfi, 102, died Sunday (Dec. 19, 1999) in her Niagara Falls home.
Mrs. Astolfi, known as Lena, was born in Teramo, Italy, and emigrated to the United States in 1923 from her home in the Abruzzi region of Italy.
During World War II, she worked at the former National Carbon Co.
Mrs. Astolfi was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Avenue Christian Church. She kept rose and vegetable gardens and sent birthday cards every year to each of her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, John of Florida; a daughter, Connie Salvo of Grand Island; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
