An 18-year-old Kensington Avenue man has been charged with attempted murder after being accused of firing a shot that struck another man in the right ear late Sunday afternoon.
Octavius L. Garrett also faces charges of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges following the shooting of John Sullivan, 25, of Elmer Street. Sullivan was treated and released from Erie County Medical Center after the bullet lodged between his skull and skin, police said.
Officer James Panus of the Northeast District accused Garrett of firing two shots at Sullivan with a .22-caliber revolver at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday at Kensington and Elmer Street. Officer Darren Labedz said he later found the weapon under a leather jacket on a bed inside a Kensington Avenue apartment.
