Sally James, 66, a longtime school monitor, died Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) in Lockport Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Lockport, the former Sally Askew formerly lived on East High Street.
She retired in 1998 after 39 years as a school monitor at John Pound Elementary School.
Mrs. James enjoyed gardening and crafts.
Her husband, Robert, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Michael; two brothers, Roger Askew of Hamlin, Ky., and Ronald Askew; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
