Robert V. Behe, 74, of Knowlesville Road, owner of Behe's Repair Service, died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Newfane, attended the former Knowlesville Union School and served in the Army during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart and a state award for conspicuous service.
Behe was in the water-pump repair business.
He was a member of Lincoln Post 1483, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Butts-Clark Post 204, American Legion; and the Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of the Junior Wilson's Sportsmen Club.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, the former Mary Grinnell; four sons, Curtis of Houston, Robert of San Antonio, Texas, Richard of Coburg, Germany, and Claude of Medina; 12 grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwood Cemetery, North Gravel Road, Medina.
