The North Tonawanda Common Council, in special session Tuesday night, appointed two police officers as detectives to replace two other acting detectives who were outscored on a recent Civil Service examination.

Assigned to the Detective Bureau was Larry W. Kuebler Jr., who received the top grade on the Civil Service exam.

Officer Thomas E. Krantz, who scored third, was named detective in the Juvenile Aid Bureau.

They replaced Officer Karen M. Dolan in the Juvenile Aid Bureau, and Officer William R. Hall in the Detective Bureau.

Officers Dolan and Hall served as detectives for a year under provisional appointments.

They were recommended by Police Chief Lloyd C. Graves, as were their replacements.

The Council decided to retain Officers Dolan and Hall in the detective posts temporarily to help train their replacements.
